More than fifteen years of turning ideas into software that ships.

I’m Jacobo Isaza, a software engineer from Medellín with more than fifteen years of experience building full-stack software and the infrastructure that runs it — first as a developer, then as a consultant, and for the last several years as the person responsible for the architecture of everything my team ships.

That work has taken me through very different industries. My core domain is clinical laboratories inside US health systems — environments where correctness, traceability and uptime are not negotiable, and where I have spent years building and integrating the systems that keep results moving. Every other domain I have worked in taught me the same lesson: understand the business first, then build exactly what it needs.

I am curious by nature and full-stack by habit — database, back end, front end, infrastructure and the conversation with the people who will actually use it. That range is what lets me deliver tailored solutions instead of fitting your problem to a package I happen to resell. I do not sell software as a service; I sell service as a software: senior engineering applied to your specific problem, delivered as working systems you own.

I co-founded Impossible Code with two researchers who care about mathematics and algorithms as much as I care about clean, working code. The company builds AI-powered software — predictive models, natural language processing, computer vision, data engineering — from Medellín for international clients. I lead the software development team as Chief Architect and I am still an active developer: I would rather review a pull request than a slide deck.

Outside of Impossible Code I work directly with founders and engineering teams on architecture, infrastructure and technology strategy — in Spanish or English, wherever they are.
